HOW HIGH THE MOON

Southerndown. Wales. John Richardson

Raft         track 9    from the album ‘Raft’

What say you my friend let’s strike out for the Ocean?

Let’s build a raft and sail into the sun,

And turn into light as we blend with our histories

And end this like we began.

Love beget us, love forgot us,

Love is sometimes illusive and pale.

In a world full of we small Humans

Some succeed while most others fail.

In view of the answers there’s no time to keep quiet

Hiding our thoughts under ground.

These days we can all speak out

‘Cause there’s millions like us all around.

I’ve been waiting for the weather to lift

Just to get back to the sea.

I can hear it out in the bay

Just calling to me to break free.

And when the signs are good for a following wind

That will take us wherever we will

The sails will unfurl and sound like they’re restless

So willing to fulfil every wish.

Just waiting and waiting watching the weather

Watching the weather unfold.

Sunsets and Moonrises, Strong ebb and flow tides

This story is yet to be told.

I’ll send you a letter back from forever

With stories and songs you can sing.

And in dreams i’ll love you and send you sweet kisses

Whatever our futures may bring.

What say you my friends let’s strike out for the Ocean?

Let’s build that raft and sail into the sun,

And turn into light as we blend with our histories

And end this like we began.
